Argentina in short
How the radio landscape is shaped, and what that means for a plan.
Provincial identity is the whole strategy
An Argentine city’s AM station is often decades old and carries real local trust, the kind a new FM entrant spends years trying to build. That makes station choice less about format and more about which voice the local audience already trusts. Buenos Aires is large enough to run as its own national-style buy, but every other city on this list, from Rosario to Salta to Ushuaia-adjacent Río Gallegos, is planned and quoted separately.
Where your campaign runs in Argentina
Each city is its own station list and its own audience, so they are planned separately.

Three things about this market that make the medium punch above its cost.
AM heritage stations carry real trust
A station that’s been on air for decades reads as more credible than an unfamiliar new entrant, which matters for a first-time local audience.
City-by-city buying keeps budgets honest
A campaign can start in one or two provincial capitals and prove itself before spreading, rather than committing to a national buy upfront.
Radio still owns the morning
AM talk and news format inventory holds a large, habitual morning audience that hasn’t migrated away the way some other media has.
Formats available in Argentina
The same four formats everywhere we plan. Availability is confirmed per station and campaign period.
Plan my formats
Recorded spot or jingle
Fifteen, twenty or thirty seconds, scheduled across the dayparts that match your audience.

Presenter mention
Read inside the programme by the presenter that audience already listens to.

Time check or feature
A fixed position in the day: the time check, the traffic report, the weather.

Programme sponsorship
Sponsor billing across a show for a defined period, with included spots and sponsor lines.
Match the goal to the format
A shortcut for narrowing the choice before you speak to anyone.
| Goal | Recommended format | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Launching a brand or a store | Recorded spot | Repetition builds recall, and a spot is what you can afford to repeat |
| Something that needs explaining | Presenter mention | A trusted voice can take thirty seconds to make a case a jingle cannot |
| An offer running for a fortnight | Spot burst across dayparts | Weight inside the window, then it stops cleanly |
| A long association, not a burst | Programme sponsorship | The audience attaches you to a show they chose |

Argentina radio advertising, answered
Can I run one campaign across all of Argentina?
You can run one creative idea, but it’s booked and quoted as separate city schedules, since each provincial market has its own stations and rates.
Should I start in Buenos Aires?
For most consumer brands, yes, since it concentrates the largest audience and the most agency infrastructure. But a regionally-distributed product often does better starting where distribution already is.
Is AM or FM the better buy?
Depends on the brief. AM carries the older, more habitual, news-and-talk audience; FM skews younger and more music-led. Many campaigns run both.
